Wind power stations
The first of five ships with parts for nine wind power stations from Denmark was unloaded at the Granudden terminal in Port of Gävle during week 38. It's a delicate task and it takes experienced and skilled cranedrivers to unload the ships. The rotor blades measures 45 meters from the base to the top and each blade weighs 9 tons. Two cranes are used to lift each blade. Despite the size of the cargo it's very fragile, and for that reason the cargo is weld to the ship ! The generator is the heaviest part, it weighs 76 tons. Specially constructed vehicles is used for the transport to the final destination - Rättvik, in Dalarna. The Swedish east Indiaman Götheborg visit in Gävle
