Revised Port regulations

The Port regulations for Port of Gävle is revised concerning tug assistance to berths 21 & 1.

Port of Gävle nominated for a price for environmental / logistic work

Port of Gävle congratulates SAS and LFV. They obtained the trophy - but we're all environmental winners.

Port of Gävle is nominated for the price "Ecologistic award" initiated by DHL Global Forwarding. Together with AFAB and Green Cargo, PoG is nominated as one of three company groups. The price gives notice to, and rewards important and innovative environmeltal/logistic-work
that has been performed in cooperation between two or three parts in the Arlanda-area.

Three finalists are nominated and the winner will be presented on November 20th at the Arlanda Logistic Networks autumn seminar.   

 
                                                                                 

Wind power stations

The first of five ships with parts for nine wind power stations from Denmark was unloaded at the Granudden terminal in Port of Gävle during week 38.

It's a delicate task and it takes experienced and skilled cranedrivers to unload the ships.  The rotor blades measures 45 meters from the base to the top and each blade weighs 9 tons. Two cranes are used to lift each blade. Despite the size of the cargo it's very fragile, and for that reason the cargo is weld to the ship ! The generator is the heaviest part, it weighs 76 tons.

Specially constructed vehicles is used for the transport to the final destination - Rättvik, in Dalarna.

The Swedish east Indiaman Götheborg visit in Gävle

On July 18th to Juli 21st the Swedish east Indiaman Götheborg visited Port of Gävle, Fredriksskans harbour.

The visit was a success. 9 682 persons visited the ship and approximately 20 000 visitors came to 
the event area.
